In 1989, the Department "Technology and Design of Garments" was established at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute to train specialists for the light industry of Kyrgyzstan. The initiator of the opening, the organizer and the head of the department was Imankulova Ayym Satarovna, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, laureate of the State Prize in the field of science and technology.
As an independent structural subdivision, the Department of "Artistic Product Design" has been functioning since 2009 after separation from the Department of "Technology of Light Industry Products". The head of the department was appointed Akynbekova Mederkul Bozgunchievna, an art critic, a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Akynbekova M.B. made a great labor and intellectual contribution to the development of the new department "Artistic Product Design" of the I. Razzakov KSTU and united highly professional artists and teachers of Kyrgyzstan in this direction.
Since 2014, the department has been headed by Dzholdoshova Ainura Buudayykovna, Ph.D., Associate professor in the specialty "Technology"
The teaching staff of the department of "KhPI" is staffed with specialists with basic specialized education and extensive experience in their activities.
Many of them are members of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic, participants and laureates of numerous competitions, exhibitions, screenings, vernissages at the national and international levels in Kyrgyzstan, Italy, France, Germany, Turkey and other countries.
Creative teachers are distinguished by their personal need for creativity, the presence of a creative type of thinking, interest in productive interaction with students, a penchant for design design taking into account scientific novelty and the optimal solution of tasks.
